Happy St. Patricks Day Everyone!!

The men on the island can be seen gathering around the sailing boats that need to be repaired and talking about past regattas and what is to come of the Exuma Regatta that will be held next month in George Town, the stories that will be told are great! The men talk about races that they have been to since they were children and how many days it took them to get to Exuma(they used to sail the boats to the regatta) and the antics that they got up to while they were there. These men will sail the regattas over and over each year with their tongues saying what should have been done and why that one lost the race. They will also inspire the young boys and men to want to go to the regattas each year. You can hear the teenage boys saying they will be there for the Junior sailors race on the Tuesday before the official races begin.

  1. I am soooo glad you pointed me in this direction, Jeannette! This is just what I need to "feed my soul" with Yuma "flavor" in this interim period. Do keep at it! Your tone and contents are right on! If you could, maybe you could 'identify'your photos (maybe best done within the text at the beginning or end) Love the scenery, and of course your friendly island people. Just can't wait until they are OUR NEIGHBORS, too! Warmest regards and blessings!
